Yes, the band is named after the girl from Scooby-Doo.

In 1996, in the city of Greensboro, North Carolina, 3 high school friends started a garage band , completely by accident. Todd Brown (guitar/vocals) had started teaching his best friend, Allen Cheshire, a few things on the bass guitar and thinking nothing more would become of it. As fate would have it, the 2 of them would become over half of the punk/ rock band called Daphne.  After snagging fellow high schooler Grey Huddleston on drums, the 3 began playing locally around the Greensboro area and developed quite a following.  From 1996 to 1999,m Daphne cut 2 studio albums "Tales Of Cascade" and "It's Not Just Because." before life intervened.  Todd went to work as a paramedic and Allen and Grey went to college.  The band pretty much was all but forgotten.  However, non of them gave up on music.  Todd was with numerous bands including 'Hey Carl' and "Fuhnetik."  Grey also played with numerous bands throughout college and Allen never quit playing himself.   In 2015, Todd released a solo album "Bittersweet Awakening" which is available on YouTube.  In 2024, he decided to release a collection of songs that, like everything else he'd written, had the distinct "Daphne" sound  and released it under the same name as a nod to the past.  Playing all instruments and collaborating with Allen again for a few tracks, "All In Due Time" was released April 1st 2025.  The follow-up LP "Until The End" followed on New Year's Day 2026.
